“On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.”
That song reminds me of my dad. He used to sing it to me all the time when I was a mere child. I haven’t thought of that song in a long time. Why did I think of it now?? I’m glad you asked. The artist who sings that song is Johnny Horton and his name was another one that was nailed to the stage we performed on this past weekend. When I saw that name nailed to the stage, it took me back!!
So today one of the dancers in Wicked Gypsy came over so we could practice for our summer solstice performance tomorrow night. We made up our little routine and planned what we were going to do for this show. I am excited about the new song, about the fact that we can whip together a performance so fast, and about the road trip tomorrow night. Someone willing to go on a road trip performance with me on a weeknight is a rare thing!! And I have two dancers going with me. Melane, who came over today, and Zing. All of us will be in Youngstown tomorrow night!!
Aside from the practice I did today for that gig, I taught two classes. We accomplished a lot in both my classes tonight too!! I was very happy with the pirate choreography. I can see how good it is going to look!! I love my dancers!!
181 down, 184 to go!!
These numbers will be crossing very soon!!
